Here at the WordCraft Cafe the goal is to write and write well. This is a community-minded workspace where writers and authors can come together to read each other's work, give feedback, leave comments, and learn the art of wordcraft. The members here (hopefully) will represent a wide range of experience, skill, and wisdom. By sharing what we know and being open to learning from each other not only can we have a lot of fun, but become better writers while doing so.

The hope is that guests to the site will join and progress through the levels of membership, becoming skilled writers in the process.

There are several levels of participation/membership:
(membership is restricted to 13 yrs. and older)

GUESTS:
Those just stopping by or who are not logged in will be at the Guest Level. Only the Reading Room will be visible/accessible at this level. Works released to this level by the authors can be read and comments can be left for specific stories/authors in the appropriate places.
Note: Comments disabled thanks to abuse by spammers.  Angry

READERS:
Those who are either new members without a work submitted to the site or who choose to remain as readers (not writing/contributing to the site) fall into this category. Readers will have access to the Members Lounge where there are several more, genre related, forums for writers to submit work for comment and feedback. Readers will be expected to leave feedback/comments on what they have read in order to allow the authors to see how their work impacts the audience. Do not underestimate this level of membership as input from readers can be invaluable to our writers/authors.

NEW WRITER/ NEW POET:
New Writers/Poets are those who have submitted a "first work" (of any size) and expressed a desire to continue to write, grow as a writer, and help others to do the same. New Writers will gain access to The Writer's Den where there will be discussion areas and Reference links as well as a "Works in progress" room where writers and authors can get a sneek-peek at what others are working on.

SR. WRITER/ JR. POET:
Sr. Writers/Poets are those members who have contributed 4 or more finished pieces (of any size) to the site and regularly leave constructive feedback for others. They are in other respects like the New Writers in their access levels and expectations.

JR. AUTHOR/ SR. POET:
Jr. Authors/Sr. Poets are those members who have contributed 6 or more finished pieces (at least one of which is 3000 words or more in length) {for the Poets among us this level requires 10 poetry submissions} to the site and regularly leave constructive feedback for others. Jr. Authors/Sr. Poets will gain access to the Private Study. This is a secure area where the author will, upon request, be set up with a private workspace they can use to develop their work away from prying eyes (except for Admins). These rooms are intended to be used for work that will eventually be released in the other areas of the site. Members at this level are expected to be more active in giving feedback and contributing to the resources in the Writer's Den area.

SR. AUTHOR/ BARD:
Sr. Authors/Bards are those members who have contributed 8 or more finished pieces (at least one of which is 5000 words or more in length) {for the Poets among us this level requires 18 poetry submissions} to the site and regularly leave constructive feedback for others. Sr. Authors/Bards will also have access to the Private Study if desired. They are expected to be active in giving feedback and helping other writers and authors improve. They are also expected to contribute to the resources in the Writer's Den area.
